On 29th July 2014, the Ministry of Finance – Programme Operator of Programme CZ06 - “Cultural Heritage and Contemporary Art” approved funding to implement pre-defined project of the National Film Archive “Digital Restoration of Czech Film Heritage”.

The project is focused on restoration and digital transcription of cinematographic works. The aim is to make Czech film heritage accessible to general public through new technologies (Blue-ray media, TV broadcasting in HD, modern cinemas with digital projection). The association of Czech universities and Academy of Sciences “CESNET” and the Norwegian National Library are partners of the project.

Overall allocation of the pre-defined project is 26 500 000 CZK.
