The Launch Conference of the Programme CZ11 - Public Health Initiatives within the Norway Grants 2009 - 2014

Today Psychiatric Hospital Bohnice held the Launch Conference of the Programme CZ11 - Public Health Initiatives within the Norway Grants 2009 - 2014. Conference was attended by representatives of the National Focal Point - Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Prague. Speakers of the conference presented the program to potential applicants and other stakeholders. The total allocation for this program is set at € 19.18 million Euro, nearly half a billion crowns.

" This is a continuation of a long-term cooperation with the Norwegian side, which we appreciate and consider it to be a success" said Deputy of Minister of Finance Eva Anderová. She further stated that Norway is not a member of the European Union, but uses its contractual benefits. Therefore Norway helps with decreasing of economic and social disparities in new EU Member States with a view to improving the quality of life and strengthening bilateral cooperation between Norway and the Czech Republic.

"I am pleased that the Norwegian partners decided to donate to the Programme in the medical field. The aim is to improve the quality of mental health care by financing new rehabilitation methods and to support prevention activities to improve the health of children. Recipients will become public bodies and non-governmental organizations active in the field of health care where both groups can significantly help, " said Jan Bodnár , Director of European funds Department at the Ministry of Health.
