Objective of the Project

The project objective is geared towards improving quality of life in children with perinatal burden, whose conditions require a follow-up rehabilitation care, namely through the activities of the secondary and tertiary prevention. The project includes a variety of activities that will lead to improved quality of life in children with perinatal burden suffering from physical disabilities and enable the best possible inclusion among their peers.

The project subject matter is the development and the subsequent pilot testing of the innovative physiotherapy methodology with home care elements intended primarily for therapies of high-risk children with perinatal burden. The subsequent pilot testing of the created methodology will be made in the main and control target group of clients, under the super-consiliary supervision by selected professionals (physiotherapist, child neurologist, psychologist, clinical speech-language pathologist).

The objective of the whole concept is to improve quality of life in children with perinatal burden suffering from physical disabilities, minimize the physical handicap of these children and integrate them into everyday life. Furthermore, one of the project partial objectives is to create conditions for better family life in families with children with perinatal burden, create conditions to prevent the disintegration of these families and bring the help as close as possible to the community and family environment. The planned activities will be located on the territory of Karlovy Vary and Ústí Regions. The project activities are closely linked to the activity of the Centre for Highly Specialized Perinatal Intensive Care as listed in the Czech Republic Ministry of Health Journal (CRMH Journal, issue 2/2014)- Krajská zdravotní, a.s. - Masaryk Hospital of Ústí nad Labem.
