Objective of the Project

The project objective is to improve the quality of perinatal care and follow-up dispensary care at the University Hospital of Hradec Králové (hereinafter “UH HK”). Therefore, the project aims to upgrade the instrumentation of the two involved clinics (the Eye Clinic and the Clinic of Otorhinolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery) that do not have available the necessary instrumentation or have a morally and physically obsolete instrumentation for the UH HK Perinatal Centre patient care and the follow-up dispensary care. Improving the health care quality would have a direct consequence on patients from Hradec Králové and Pardubice Regions and partly from Liberec and Vysočina Regions. The project scope is focused on primary, secondary and tertiary preventions. Thus, the project subject matter is to equip the two clinics with up-to-date medical technology. Furthermore, the project also includes educational activities to acquire new knowledge and skills needed to maximize the use of the purchased technology potential. Within the project, the instrumentation will be purchased focusing on the optometry, detection and monitoring of eye disease, a diagnostic kit for the detection of hearing impairment in children and a system for the independent adjustment of assistive devices and furthermore a device for early detection of defects and malformations in the nasal cavity. These devices represent an important step in the quality of provided care as opposite to the current situation when at the UH HK this technology is missing in most cases. In addition to the costs associated with the purchase of the equipment, the project also included costs for providing training and education of medical staff (in the form of travel costs) and the costs of publicity (used for the obligatory publicity of the project).
