Objective of the Project

The goal of this project is to oranise a showcase festival, which aims to present today's top European musicians, who work outside the mainstream, to the public.

The target groups of the project are the artists and the general public. The target group of artists will collaborate on the project in the long term using an electronic portal, which will include profiles of music bands, moderated discussions with experts, interviews with musicians and contacts for the artists.

This long-term cooperation will culminate in the preparation of eight editions of the showcase festival (opening one-day, six two-day and closing four-day editions), where artists will perform and also will participate in the accompanying program, which will offer lectures by experts, panel discussions and workshops.

The target group of the public will also use the electronic portal and then will personally meet the musicians during the editions of the showcase festival in the main and accompanying programme.

The format of showcase festival, which combines music production with an accompanying programme of lectures, was chosen because of the greater impact of the action on the target groups and also because in the Czech Republic it is not very common, although abroad it is very popular.

Within the main programme the festival will also introduce muscians from various European ethnic minorities, as well as artists from donor countries, thereby fulfilling the objectives of the programme area no. 17 and the development of bilateral relations with donor countries. The project will involve at least 3,000 representatives of the target group of general public and 90 representatives of the target group of artists. The project team members have extensive experience in organising music events in the music club Kabinet muz (Cabinet of the Muses), the project will be implemented in collaboration with a partner from Norway, which also has extensive experience in organising music festivals and also focuses on contemporary work of Norwegian musicians. He will also get the space for the presentation during both main and accompanying programme of the festival.

Implementation of the project will run from May 2015 to April 2016, each festival edition will be held in June, September, October, November and December 2015 and in January, February and March 2016 in the areas of the club Kabinet muz and multi-functional space Praha in Brno. The project will be implemented by project team of the applicant which will include a team of temps for the festival.
