Objective of the Project

Hypothesis of NuArch project is based on the assumption that nuclear structural proteins, and their roles in gene expression regulation, are also implicated in autophagy and DNA damage repair. We expect to establish new roles for well-known nuclear structural proteins and link them to key nuclear processes which are critical for cellular homeostasis and regulation of cell growth. This will be studied in several cancer cell types, characterized by uncontrolled cell proliferation. Project is also dealing with functional properties of selected nuclear proteins, known to be implicated in a variety of rare diseases, collectively referred to as "nuclear envelopathies".
