| Objective of the Project |
The project objective is to renovate the church of Virgin Mary of the Snows in Velké Karlovice. This church constitutes a valuable historic centre of the municipality and is a highly-valued building in the surrounding area. The subject of the submitted application is the replacement of the shingled roofing, which has reached the end of its life, and the local renovation of damaged elements connected with the roof (parts of historic roof frames, crating, church spire) that involve hazards caused by a delay. The damaged elements of the roof truss will be treated, sealed, supplemented with a prosthesis or replaced with identical ones. The project also includes maintenance of the bell control technology, renovation of the shingle sheathing of the church, renovation of the choir loft floor, which has reached the end of its life, and restoration of the pipe organ, which has already suffered damage but this work of art may be restored to recover its former authenticity and appearance to a large extent and particularly to stop its further degradation by wood-destroying organisms. |
